5 things Lindsay Weir has taught me

Lindsay Weir from the late 90s show "Freaks and Geeks" is known for her brains and honesty. Dressed in her dad's army jacket she walks the halls of McKinley high school, trying to figure herself out. Couragously she sticks up for others and herself whilst always being loyal and honest, which makes her a great character but also an awesome friend. Here are 5 things I learned from Lindsay Weir.

1. Embrace change
When Lindsay's grandma died she noticed a change within herself. She didn't behind her calculator or a forced smile. Instead she went with her heart, broke her old ways and fashion habits and reinvented herself. She found new friends and discovered a new rebellious side to herself. Lindsay Weir is never afraid to go with the current and see where it takes her in the end.

2. Be true to who you are
Lindsay never acts different on behalf of others (at least not in the long run). She is smart and owns it. Only because she is with friends with the freaks doesn't mean she can't be great at maths and hang out with her former mathlete friends every once a while.

3. Stick up for others
Lindsay is the first person to defend someone who is being mistreated. She will always stand up for people even if they are not considered cool, because she wears her heart on the right spot. Never afraid to face somebody she is eager to voice her opinion of someone'c idiotic behaviour. Her protectiveness of others and blunt honesty may sometimes get her into trouble (especially with the teachers body), but make her an amazing friend and in a way a heroine.

4. You don't have to change to fit in
Although she may have changed cliques Lindsay still keeps in touch with her mathlete friends. She will never turn someone down only because they are not cool or whatever. A friend is a friend and she will spend time with whoever she wants. Adaptable and social as she is, Lindsay casually exists within different circles of friends.

5. How to be a great friend
Loyalty, honesty and kindness are Lindsay's strongest qualities. She listens well, gives good advice and sticks up for her friends. She will always give everyone a second chance to prove themselves right and make up for mistakes. She will always stick up for you, but expects the same thing in return. But above all qualities, Lindsay is honest and wil constantly let her friends know her true thoughts, suspicions and opinions.
